If you’re looking for a travel experience that’s equal parts art exhibit, immersive theater, and interdimensional time warp, Meow Wolf needs to be on your radar—if it isn’t already.
My personal love affair with Meow Wolf began in Santa Fe, at the House of Eternal Return. I had no idea what I was getting into—just a tip from a friend and a vague sense of curiosity. One rabbit hole later (literally, through a washing machine), and I was hooked.
Fast forward to now, and there are five Meow Wolf locations open across the U.S., each one a mind-bending experience in its own right:
Santa Fe, NM – The original. Whimsical, eerie, and packed with secrets.
Las Vegas, NV – Omega Mart, a dystopian grocery store with corporate satire and neon-soaked weirdness.
Denver, CO – Convergence Station, a multiverse transit hub connecting four alien worlds.
Grapevine, TX – The Real Unreal, where narrative storytelling and childhood imagination collide.
Houston, TX – A continuation of The Real Unreal, opened in 2024 with fresh twists and new portals.
Rumor has it they’re expanding to New York City, but that location isn’t open just yet. (You can bet we’ll be there when it is.)
This summer, we’re setting off on a road trip to visit all five. Call it a Meow Wolf pilgrimage. I can't wait to compare the different experiences, uncover hidden Easter eggs, and see how each location tells a completely different story while still feeling undeniably Meow Wolf.
If you’re into immersive experiences, psychedelic art, or just looking to be completely wowed, I highly recommend checking one out—or all five. Stay tuned for updates from the road. Who knows what wormholes we’ll find next?
Happy traveling,
Lakin
